Tickets to plays, art exhibits and festivals are priced at only a small fraction of what they cost in the United States. So there is more to see and more you can afford to see.
Like all of the world's great cities London itself is changing. New restaurants are always opening and the culinary standards, led by TV star chef Gordon Ramsey, are exceedingly high.
But maybe, the biggest thing that brings me back again and again is the sense of history that lies around every street corner. Shakespeare, Dickens and Churchill are only a few who have actually walked these streets. Hundreds of fictional characters from Sherlock Holmes to Harry Potter also had adventures set in London.
No wonder it's my favorite city.
